Our multidisciplinary teams work with your support network, medical team, friends and family to enable you to overcome challenges and live a fulfilling life.

We provide deep knowledge, empathy and expertise to ensure you have the best care, guidance and support.

  • Spinal cord injury nurses

    Our spinal nurse advisors are experts in the field, with deep knowledge of spinal cord injury care. Visiting you at home or connected on a call, a spinal nurse advisor provides preventative and reactive medical treatment.

    Our nurse advisors put you first, building trust and ensuring you are comfortable and confident with your treatment and care.


  • Continence assessment

    Learn skills, gain access to resources and work closely and confidentially with a nurse specialist who can assess and help you plan a routine that enables you to structure your days.


  • Occupational therapy

    From mobility and home modifications to care needs assessments, complex equipment prescriptions or driving modifications, our occupational therapists look for opportunities to guide you to regain independence.


  • Physiotherapy

    Our physiotherapists are experts in working with people living with disabilities or spinal cord injuries, relieving symptoms and enabling maximal physical health through passive and active exercises.


  • Social counselling

    Increase your capacity, gain new perspectives, and learn techniques and skills that will improve your mental and social well-being, working with specialist social counsellors experienced in disability and spinal cord injury.


  • Peer support advocates

    A free service unique to estara, our peer support program connects people living with spinal cord injury to a peer who has experienced spinal cord injury and can provide guidance during rehabilitation and beyond.

    Benefit from shared experience and genuine empathy, with as little or as much support as you choose.


  • Support coordination

    Our support coordinators have extensive knowledge of NDIS and health funding for spinal cord injury and can guide you through the complexities to help you set up your support systems.


  • Community activities

    estara’s recreation program operates three groups in the north, south and west of metropolitan Adelaide and its surrounds. Each group meets fortnightly for a fully organised and facilitated event, providing an opportunity for people, who use a wheelchair as their primary means of mobility, to establish friendships in their community.

    Our recreational activities include:

    • Gathering at local eateries or cafes
    • Visiting and touring landmarks and natural environments
    • Arts and crafts

Our specialist services are available in your home, or at d our Dulwich office, where you will receive support and care in one of our dedicated therapy rooms. While on-site you’ll have access to a fully accessible kitchen.

No, anyone living with a disability or spinal cord injury is welcome to request our services, even if you do not engage with us on a day-to-day basis.

We are passionate about ensuring inclusion and participation for people living with disability, and you can choose how and when to engage with our support services.
