Chris

Chris lives with his wife Athelie. This is his second SCI as he experienced paralysis after an accident in 1974 and more recently after surgery. PQSA Peer Support Advocate Vicky met Chris while in rehabilitation.

“Vicky kept me up to date with what I would need after leaving Hampstead and had a wheelchair fitted for me. Vicky let us know about the PQSA grant we could use for equipment and modifications to our home.”

“I was a motor mechanic for 30 years, so being given money for these things has taken some getting used to. However, we are very happy with the grant.” The PQSA grant covered the installation of ramp so that Chris can get access to the garden and vehicle, a handrail in bathroom, wheelchair modifications and two lifter slings.
