Eric enjoyed retired life with friends and family, including several grandchildren and a foster child! An operation last year resulted in spinal cord injury. During a three-month period of rehabilitation at Hampstead, Eric met PQSA Peer Support Advocates Graham and Vicky, who recommended he take up the PQSA grant for people over 65.

Eric has been living at home for several months and has used the grant for ramps, allowing safe access in and out of the house. It also covered a lifting machine and slings that will assist with transfers.

Eric’s wife Lynn, a nurse with many years’ experience in hospitals also stretched the grant to cover a pump for Eric’s Roho cushion!

“I appreciate the funds from PQSA to make the house more accessible and the lifter makes it safer for my wife to support me at home.”
